Laws we follow
Cargo Motives operates under the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, including:
- the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 and its regulations — how we handle personal data;
- the Electronic Transactions Act, 2015 — online contracts and the information online businesses must give you;
- the Cybercrimes Act, 2015 and the Electronic and Postal Communications (Online Content) Regulations — content posted on the platform;
- the Fair Competition Act, 2003 — fair and honest dealing, and no misleading claims;
- the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act, 1999 — content and images.
Transporter companies must also comply with the laws on carrying goods by road, including licensing by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority.
